Stanford University

In 1997 I spent a semester at Visiting Professor in Sports Medicine at Stanford University in California where I had the pleasure of working with Dr Gordon Matheson and his staff.

I was involved in some research there as well as putting the finishing touches to our Stress Fractures text book. I was also involved with coverage of the football team and womens volleyball team who won the NCAA championship play offs in Spokane Washington.

I was fortunate to work with Kerri Walsh one of the stars of the Stanford women’s volleyball team who went on to represent USA in volleyball in the Sydney Olympics and then took up beach volleyball winning Olympic gold in Athens and Beijing with her partner Misty May.
